Progress Report on Peterson Pioneer Home

The Peterson Pioneer Home is getting a face-lift with projects being completed this spring. Funding for this work includes grants from the Gilbert Renze Foundation and the Sac County Endowment foundation. A contribution of $500 by Bryce Hustedt was included in the bid for the Roof and Porch project. The Odebolt Betterment Committee very much appreciates these contributions as well as the volunteer hours coming from the Odebolt community.

On the house front, a new steel roof and full porch roof replacement has been completed by Bryce Hustedt and BDH Construction. The dark green steel shingles match those of the Richland Country School next door.

Mark Horsley Construction is providing the face-lift for the back of the house. Horsley is building a replacement door for the south rear entry. New cedar siding and reinforcement of the house structure will complete this area.

Work still to be done includes: replacing the remaining wood siding, window replacement and restoration of the house interior.
