Stuga to be open during Creek Days

The 'Stuga', the old 1872 Swedish one-room home located behind Faith Lutheran Church, will have an attendant present for those who would like to visit during Creek Days.  On Saturday, June 21st the hours will be 10:00 a.m to noon, and 2:00 to 3:30 p.m. On Sunday, June 22 open hours will be 2:00 to 3:30 p.m. Faith Lutheran is located at 708 Locust Street in Odebolt.

The Stuga was built in southeast Minnesota in 1872 by Swedish immigrants, parents of the late John Nelson of Odebolt.  John and his wife, Blanch, purchased the home and moved it to their farm, "The Maples" south of Odebolt. After the Nelsons died, the stuga was moved to Faith Lutheran Church property and restored in 1985.  Blanch Nelson, a talented artist, painted many Swedish proverbs and sayings on the interior beams of this charming small home.
