ONRC Auxiliary hears reports
The regular meeting of the Odebolt Nursing and Rehab Auxiliary was Thursday, Aug. 16, with the staff serving. President Verna Mae called the meeting to order.
Roll call was answered by 15 members. The treasurer’s and secretary’s reports were read.
Taesa: She reported sending Pam Porter to conference in June. She has worked for the home for 27 years and had only nine days absent from work.
Julie: Hired a new C. N. A. Also had a C. N. A. take her L. P. N test so will move her up.
Sonia: Residents enjoyed the Olympics. There will be a family picnic in September. A candlelight supper was served to Les and Ruth Friedrichsen for their 66th anniversary. Will do that for other residents when the time comes for them.
Jill: A. L. had Harold Wunschel’s 100th birthday party there, with more than 100 attending. National A. L. week is Sept. 9-15. A family dinner will be held on Sunday of that week.
In old business, the coat rack for A. L. was again discussed. We will look into other options.
In new business, the bylaws were reviewed. Lots of changes need to be made. The officers will work on that. It is time for election of officers. The president asked members to be thinking about of icers and new members.
In other discussion, Julie said there has not been a weight loss since the ice cream machine is on at all times. Residents love that.
The president asked if the home needed anything. It was suggested maybe getting a projector for speakers to use, as well as others as needed.
A fund-raiser was discussed, possibly a pancake supper. Taesa suggested a soup supper with pie and maybe a mini bazaar. Will discuss that more at next meeting.
The next meeting is Sept. 20 with Margaret Landgraf serving.
