RAGBRAI 2012
Lake View will be hosting RAGBRAI riders on Monday, July 23 overnight.  The town will be bringing music and many activities into town to make 'Summer Brake 2012" memorable for riders.

New Deputy for Sac County
Joel Burns is a new deputy in Sac County, and took the oath of office during the July 10 meeting of the Sac County Board of Supervisors at the court house in Sac City.  He is a 2006 graduate of Battle Creek Ida Grove High School and attended Iowa Western Community College, earning a degree in Criminal Justice.  Burns will reside in Odebolt.

OAEF awards grant
The Odebolt-Arthur Education Foundation (OAEF) is proud to announce that Kara Neville, Title I and Reading Recovery teacher is the recipient of a $500 grant.  Kara accepted this donation on behalf of the Odebolt-Arthur Elementary teachers. The money will be used to purchase more books for the Leveled Library at Odebolt Elementary School.  The Leveled Library allows teachers to teach effective reading strategies to small groups of children at an appropriate level for their success.  For more information on the OAEF, visit their blog at
