O-A/BC-IG  Graduation

Commencement exercises for 81 Odebolt-Arthur/Battle Creek-Ida Grove seniors will be at 2 p. m. in the high school gymnasium.

The program will begin with prelude music and the processional “Pomp and Circumstance” performed by the O-A/BC-IG High School band, under the direction of Eric Wells.

Superintendent Dani Trimble will welcome the audience.

Seniors Kendra Krager, Brandi Snyder, Bridgett Konradi, Carly Brosius, Casey Ludwig, Erin Brown, Marissa Nielsen, Sam Miller and Colin Lierman will sing “Our Song Will Live On,” directed by Linda Johnson.

O-A/BC-IG High School Principal Patrick Miller will present the seniors with their scholastic recognition awards and then recognize the Battle Creek-Ida Grove and Odebolt-Arthur valedictorians Morgan VanDerSloot and Jeff Gustafson, respectively. Salutatorians are Jessie Pauley (BC-IG) and Zach Olson (O-A).

BC-IG School Board President Berny Sohm, Odebolt-Arthur Board President Paul Neumann and guidance counselor Mary Schroeder will distribute the diplomas to the seniors.

Miller will then present the graduates to the audience, followed by the recessional.

After commencement, the graduates will have a receiving line outside, weather permitting.

Accompanying the students were instructor Eric Wells and Odebolt Memorial Park Board and Odebolt Betterment Committee members Elaine Rex and Deb Reinhart. The students were treated with bottles of water, cinnamon rolls and cookies, courtesy of the City of Odebolt and O-A/BC-IG school. The community appreciates the students’efforts.
