SCRIMMAGES ON FRIDAY, AUGUST 19
O-A/BC-IG volleyball and football teams will have either a special practice or scrimmages that will be open to the public this Friday, Aug. 19. The volleyball team will host a V.I.P. practice from 5 to 6:15 p.m. at the high school gym in Ida Grove. The football parents will be grilling burgers at the stadium. The football team’s scrimmage is set for 6:30 to 8 p.m. Admission will be a free will donation.

STORM LAKE WOMAN CITED FOLLOWING ACCIDENT
Peggy Ann Liautaud, 71, of Storm Lake was cited for failure to obey stop sign and yield right of way following a two-vehicle accident in Odebolt, according to an Iowa State Patrol crash information report. The accident occurred Aug. 9 at 1:47 p.m. at the intersection of M43 and Highway 175 in Odebolt. According to the report, Jackie Lee Cole, 59, of Charles City was eastbound on Highway 175. Liautaud failed to yield the right of way from the stop sign on M43, struck the driver’s side fuel tank on Cole’s semi, spun around, hit a power pole and finally came to rest in the north ditch of Highway 175. The Sac County Ambulance transported Liautaud to Buena Vista Regional Medical Center in Storm Lake. There was $20,000 damage to Liautaud’s 2008 Chrysler and $2,500 damage to the 2007 International semi tractor registered to Schuster Company of LeMars.
