ODC ORGANIZATIONAL MEETING AUGUST 24
The Odebolt Development Corporation, the group responsible for Creek Days, will have an organizational meeting on Wednesday, August 24th at 7:00 p.m. at the DownTown Cafe.

The ODC is looking for some new ideas and some energetic, community-minded people to fill openings on Creek Days subcommittees.

The ODC board oversees Creek Days, whereas each subcommittee is responsible for organizing an individual event.  Current subcommittees include parade, beer garden, car show, mud volleyball, and demo derby.

In addition, the board would like to add other subcommittees such as kids' activities, etc., so if you have an idea for an event for Creek Days, please attend to share your thoughts.    All subcommittee members for Creek Days 2011 as well as anyone interested in being a part of Creek Days 2012 are encouraged to attend.

If you are interested in joining a subcommittee but are unable to attend the meeting on August 24th, please contact Jason and Beth Wulf or any ODC member.

HEARING ON PRECINCT VOTING CHANGES
The date of a public hearing to give input on possible changes to the number of locations where voting in general and primary elections has been moved to September 6.  The time for the hearing remains at 7 p.m., and the location will be the courtroom at the Sac County Courthouse.

Supervisors are considering eliminating voting precinct locations throughout the county, with the possibility of having just three locations instead of the current nine.  There must be at least one voting location in each precinct.

What this could mean is that voters in District 1, instead of having a voting location in Odebolt, Early and Schaller, may have to travel to one of those towns to vote in a general election.

It is possible that the supervisors may decide to keep more than one voting location in a district.  They have said they would consider anything from three locations in the county to the current nine.

The supervisors want to hear from the public on this, and have set aside time during their regular weekly meetings, which start at 10 a.m. on the third floor of the Sac County Courthouse.  For those unable to make it during their regular meeting times, they encourage people to attend the public hearing on September 6 in the courthouse.
