O-A/BC-IG GIRLS ON TOP IN 2A

(Excerpt) O-A/BC-IG remains on top of the class 2A girls basketball rankings released by the Iowa Girls High School Athletic Union Thursday, Jan. 27. The Falcons (17-0) have been ranked first since the start of the season.  So far this season the Falcons have defeated four currently ranked teams. The list includes I-K-M-M, L-B, Manson-Northwest Webster (14th in 2A) and Martensdale St. Mary (number one in 1A).

GET INVOLVED, ATTEND YOUR PUBLIC MEETINGS - by Deb Loger

(Excerpt) Following is a list of area governmental agencies and when they meet. If you want to know what’s happening in your community, school or county, get involved and attend a meeting. 

Odebolt City Council - Meets the first Monday of each month at 7:30p.m. at city hall.

Odebolt-Arthur and Battle Creek-Ida Grove School Board—Meets jointly the second Monday of the month at 6:30 p.m. alternating monthly between the superintendent’s office in Ida Grove and the conference room in Odebolt.

Odebolt Betterment Committee—Meets the second Tuesday of each month at 6 p.m. at city hall. (February's meeting is Tuesday, Feb. 8 at 6 pm at the Downtown Cafe.)

Odebolt Community Center—Meets the second Wednesday of each month at 6 p.m. at the community center.

Odebolt Development Corporation—At press time, a new meeting day and place were being discussed.

Odebolt Fire Department— Business meetings are held the first Thursday of each month at 7 p.m. at the fire station. Training meetings are scheduled as needed.

Odebolt Museum Board— Meets the fourth Wednesday April through September at 7 p.m. at the museum.

Odebolt Public Library Board—Meets the second Monday of each month at 5 p.m. at the library.

Odebolt Recreation Committee—Meets as needed.

Odebolt Rotary—Meets every Tuesday at noon at DownTown Café in Odebolt.

Sac County Ambulance Services (including the Odebolt unit)—Meet the first Wednesday of each month for training from 7 to 10 p.m. at various sites throughout the county. Skills trainings are held the third Thursdays of each month from 7 to 9 p.m. at various locations throughout the county.
