BC-IG SCHOLARSHIP FOUNDATION CHANGES ITS NAME
(Excerpt)
Roger Christensen, president of the local scholarship foundation announces the board of directors have decided to change its name from the BC-IG Citizens’ Scholarship Foundation to the O-A/BC-IG Dollars for Scholars Foundation. “Our school district has changed due to whole grade sharing, and the board felt this change should be reflected in the name of our scholarship foundation,” Christensen said. “Including Odebolt and Arthur in our name will eliminate some confusion for the students, parents and communities."

Scholarships are available to the students from the Odebolt and Arthur district on a prorated basis which is the same for new students entering the district during their high school years. The 2010 graduates from Odebolt and Arthur received one-fourth of their scholarship award, the 2011 graduates will receive one half of their award, 2012 graduates will receive three-fourths of their award, and the Class of 2013 will receive full scholarships since whole grade sharing began when they were freshmen.
