VOTE FOR THE SLUGGO BURGER TODAY!
The nomination period ends Wednesday, March 9, 2016.

Sac County Cattlemen’s Association is asking everyone in the surrounding area to help nominate The Bowling Alley, Odebolt, Iowa as your favorite burger for the Iowa’s Best Burger contest sponsored by the Iowa Beef Industry Council and the Iowa Cattlemen’s Association.
“Iowa’s restaurants are a valuable partner to the beef industry and they do a tremendous job of preparing and serving our beef products in delicious and creative ways,” says Kevin Carstensen, Odebolt. “Although burgers are often standard fare, we know from experience that the winners of this state contest serve outstanding burgers. We are excited to be asking for everyone’s vote to have The Bowling Alley in the Top 10 in the state”.
In order to recognize these great burgers, the Sac County Cattlemen’s Association is asking consumers to nominate the “Sluggo” burger. The Sluggo burger is a 1/2 pound Black Angus burger beef patty, set on top of bun, ketchup, mustard, pickles, onion, tomato, coleslaw. The burger is then topped with cheddar cheese and pecan smoked bacon.
This nomination can be made by mail, text, or online. Burger lovers can find a link to the online nomination form at the Iowa Beef Council Facebook page or by texting BEEF to 313131. One nomination online or 1 text message per person. A text message may be sent up to 5 times from one cell phone voting for other family members. If mailing nomination, it needs to be received at the Iowa Beef Industry Office by March 9.
The nomination period ends March 9, 2016. The top 10 restaurants with the most votes are eligible for the title of Iowa’s Best Burger. An anonymous panel of judges will visit each of the top 10 restaurants to determine the state winner. The 2016 Best Burger in Iowa will be announced on May 2 and will kick-off May Beef Month. In 2015, more than 4,000 nominations for 286 restaurants were received in the contest. Please take the time today to vote for the Sluggo burger at “The Bowling Alley”.
