Updates on Odebolt volunteer projects.

The Odebolt Memorial Walk Park Committee will be meeting soon to discuss the needs of the Walk and Spring clean up agenda.

The Odebolt Betterment Committee is hosting the Pancake Breakfast during Creek Days this year. We have hired Chris Cakes to serve. So hope everyone will join us this year.

As you can see from the OBC blog, the Peterson Pioneer Home has a new roof and a new front porch. This past week Mark Horsley Construction has been working on the home, replacing the wood siding and building a new back door. This project has been made possible by the Gilbert and Barbara Renze Charitable Grant, Sac Co Endowment Foundation Grant and private donation.   You will be able to view progress on the Pioneer Home during Creek Days.

We have had 3 loads of black dirt donated to us for the Pioneer Home yard.  Joel Ahart will be working up the ground to get rid of as much debris as possible, then will level out the dirt and apply grass seed. This project is made possible by an Iowa Network Services grant that we received.

Kris Ziegmann and Deb Reinhart have applied for a landscaping grant from Keep Iowa Beautiful and are still waiting to hear if we have been awarded any funding.

Linda Godbersen is planning on building a berm in the City Park sometime this summer.  When the weather permits we will be planting about 17 more trees in the community.

The Odebolt City Council is going to get a preview of the Country School House during their June meeting.  The open house for the public will be on June15 during Creek Days.

Pictured is a sample image of the T-shirts that will be available for the opening of Richland #1 School Museum on June 15, 2013.  Opening ceremonies will be held during Odebolt Creek Days  at 10:30 a.m.   Proceeds will benefit the Rural Legacy Project, the organization which has moved the school from its original location to 2nd Street in downtown Odebolt.
