Man charged in break-ins at two Odebolt car dealerships

The Sac County Sheriff filed charges against 69 year-old Roy Steed Cope in connection with three burglaries which occurred in Odebolt.  Cope allegedly broke into Larry Beckman Motors on the night of April 30. There were signs of forced entry, damage to some file cabinets, and the phone lines were reportedly cut. A similar burglary occurred that same night at Mark Hansen’s Rex Chevrolet. Phone lines at the dealership were cut and there was evidence of a forced entry at multiple locations throughout the business.

Le Mars Community School hires associate principal

 The Le Mars Community School Board of Education approved a contract for the associate high school principal position Monday.  Neal Utesch, currently employed with the Odebolt-Arthur Elementary/OA-BCIG Community Schools in Odebolt, will assume his new duties Aug. 1.
