Get Your 2013 Sauk Rail Trail Passes

A great place to go and recreate or exercise is on the 33 mile paved Sauk Rail Trail between Lake View and Swan Lake.  The Sac County Conservation Board offers 3 types of trail passes - daily - annual - and a new lifetime pass.  Daily and Annual passes may be purchased along the trail by placing the fee enclosed in the trail envelope in the yellow tubes along the trail in Lake View and Carnarvon.  You may also stop by the Conservation Center at Hagge Park, m-F, 8-4:30  to purchase your SAuk Rail Trail pass.

Community Basket

Dates for distribution are
May 16 in Battle Creek
June 20th in Holstein.
For information contact Kris Gunderson 675-4401
or Pastor Trish Underberg at 668-4515.

The Community Basket ministry is a partnership with the following communities, Battle Creek, Holstein, Galva, Ida Grove, Arthur, Kiron and Odebolt. Community Basket grew out of the Odebolt, Arthur, Kiron Ministerial and the Ida Ministerial Associations to provide supplemental food to those families in need, working in conjunction with the Food Bank of Siouxland.

Community Basket has a two prong mission:

1) The Mobile Food Pantry is held on the third Thursday of each month and moves from community to community. Doors open at 4:30 p.m.

2) A Site Pantry located in the basement of the Medical Arts Building in Ida Grove is opened every Thursday from 1-4 p.m.. A household is able to use the site pantry once a month.

The communities of the Community Basket have received donations to provide for the food each month at the mobile site and what is left is counted up and then taken to the site pantry. The site pantry exists on donations of food items and non-perishable items (personal care, toilet paper, Kleenex, diapers, etc). Each month church congregations are invited to collect various items for the Site Pantry.
