Excerpts from the 1/7/13/Odebolt City Council Meeting

Approved Ordinance 02.13 amending the city council meeting time from 7:30 p. m. to 7 p. m., beginning with the Feb. 7 council meeting.

A
pproved Ordinance 01.13 setting regulations for UTV licenses in the city limits. Under the ordinance, individuals must be 16 or older with a valid driver’s license, apply for a permit application, sticker and fee of $40 bi-annually.

Kerry Reinhart of the Odebolt Betterment Committee reported there is the possibility of a donation to the OBC for a fountain in the Greenspace Park, if the city will maintain the fountain. The council directed Reinhart to investigate financial obligations required for the fountain.

The following wages were approved for pool employees: $7 an hour for basket personnel, $8 for lifeguards and $9 for lifeguards with WSI.

City clerk Joan Godbersen’s resignation was approved, effective Jan 28, with her final day Jan. 31.

Councilman Todd Bengford read a letter from Faith Lutheran Church, noting its $7,000 donation. The church has also set aside $3,000, in which they are challenging others in the community to match. Details are to be determined.
