Ekstrom Photo Selected for Calendar 

A photo of Schaller Memorial Chapel at Buena Vista University (BVU) during a lightning storm in September has been selected by KTIV television for its 2013 Siouxland Calendar.

The photo was taken by David Ekstrom, a senior BVU digital media major from Odebolt.

40 Years of Service Recognized
On October 26, 2012 John Forsyth, CEO of Wellmark Blue Cross & Blue Shield, presented Jo (Fineran) Bond a dozen red roses at a recognition dinner held at the Wellmark headquarters in Des Moines.  She celebrated 40 years of service with Wellmark.  Jo is presently in the Individual/Small Group Underwriting Department in the Finance Division.  Arlene Fineran (Jo's mother) of Odebolt was Jo's guest for the dinner.

Thanksgiving Closings
The Sac County Courthouse will be closed Thursday and Friday, November 22 & 23 in observance of the Thanksgiving weekend.

The Chronicle will be closed on Thursday, November 22 and Friday, November 23 for the Thanksgiving holiday, and will re-open on Monday, November 26.

Swanson Insurance & Real Estate will be closing at noon Wednesday, November 21 and will re-open Monday, November 26.
