Odebolt news from 12-21-11 Courier

 Christmas worship services
Area churches will be celebrating the holiday season with special worship services.

Odebolt

Odebolt Faith Lutheran Church will hold a 5 p. m. candlelight and communion service on Christmas Eve. Bethel Lutheran Church in Kiron will have a 7 p. m. Christmas Eve candlelight and communion service.

First Presbyterian Church’s Christmas Eve communion and candlelight service begins at 7 p. m. The Christmas and New Year’s Day services are at 10 a. m.

St. Martin Catholic Church will observe the holidays with the following masses: Christmas Eve at 10 p. m., Christmas Day at 9 a. m. and New Year’s Eve at 5:30 p. m.

Trinity Lutheran Church will observe the holidays with four special services. Services include a 5:30 p. m. Christmas Eve worship service with the Sunday school children’s Christmas program, a 9 a. m. Christmas Day service, a 5:30 p. m. p. m. service on New Year’s Eve and a 9 a. m. service on New Year’s Day.

The Odebolt United Methodist Church Christmas Eve service begins at 5 p. m. Christmas and New Year’s Day services are at 10:30 a. m.

Arthur

The Arthur Evangelical Free Church has a 6 p. m. worship service on Christmas Eve and a 10:30 a. m. worship service on Christmas Day.

The Arthur Methodist Church will hold services at 9 a. m. on Christmas Day and New Year’s Day.

Odebolt man dies in early morning accidentDaniel Samaniego-Hernandez, 41, of Odebolt died as the result of injuries from a one-vehicle accident Monday, Dec. 19, at 4:50 a. m.

Samaniego-Hernandez was southbound on Highway 39 just south of E16 when he lost control of his vehicle on the frost-covered road. The vehicle entered the west ditch and rolled twice. Samaniego-Hernandez was ejected out of the driver’s side window. He was transported to Crawford County Memorial Hospital in Denison. Medical personnel pronounced him dead at 5:14 a. m.

There was $15,000 damage to the 2004 Cadillac registered to Melissa Gayle Samaniego of Odebolt and $100 to a fence.       OBITUARY
