O-A/BC-IG students chose masquerade as prom theme
The O-A/B-CIG junior-senior prom will be Saturday, April 23, at Skate Palace in Ida Grove. The junior class is planning the details to make the night special for all who attend. They have been designing table settings, backdrops, centerpieces and invitations.

The theme this year is “Masquerade Ball,” featuring elaborate masks, candelabra, feathers and lots of sparkle in reds, gold and blacks. This year the grand march will be held in the high school gym, allowing more seating available for the public.

The grand march will begin at 5 p.m., going until 6:15 p.m. The reception with appetizers and photo ops will begin at Ida Grove Skate Palace at 5:20 p.m. (for participants only). Student welcome and response from the junior and senior class representatives, along with the senior déjà vu slide presentation, will follow.

Supper will be catered by Aunt B’s and Best of Barb’s. Changes to the menu are possible. Students will enjoy appetizers including pickle wraps, little smokies, crackers with sausage and cheese and Hawaiian punch with ginger ale will be available to drink. The main course will be a lettuce salad, saucy baked chicken breast with asparagus topper, cheesy potatoes, dinner rolls and a choice between lemonade or water. Dessert is a brownie sundae with chocolate drizzle.

Prom servers are: Jenna Henderson, Bethany Rehse, Ryan Kolpin, McKinna Faulkenberry, Daltyn Swanger, Ryder Meek, Austin Behrendsen, Zane Dausel, Raquel Rubio, Jatlyn Jessen, Claire Sohm, Alex Scaeuble and Austin Newquist.

After the meal, students will enjoy dancing from 8:30 to 11:30 p.m., with music provided by Muzic Mystro DJ services.

Right after prom, charter buses will leave at 12:30 a.m. to head to Elkhorn, Neb., where students will enjoy “The Mark.” The Mark has games, bowling, inflatables and much more, including pizza and drinks. All students will be required to go through a bag and security check prior to boarding the buses. The buses will return around 9 a.m. the following morning. Prom sponsors are Donna Rasmussen and Kate Byeke.
