Obituary: Virginia (Worswick) Anderson

Anderson, Virginia (Worswick)
June 27, 1928 - June 27, 2015

Virginia (Ginny) Worswick Anderson, daughter of Charles and Angeline Worswick, passed away on her 87th birthday at her residence in San Ramon, CA.

Ginny was born in Odebolt, Iowa in where she lived until entering Iowa State College (now Iowa State University).  It was there that she met her future husband, Paul, whom she married in 1950. Ginny and Paul were married for 60 years before Paul's death in 2011.  In 1975 the family moved to the San Francisco Bay Area where they lived for four years when they moved to Tempe, AZ.  They finally fulfilled their dream a few years later when they settled in San Diego where they lived for the next 25 years.  Ginny and Paul moved back to the Bay Area in 2010 to be closer to their sons.

Besides being a homemaker and mother to four boys, Ginny was an active member of the Chi Omega Sorority in Ames, Iowa where she was the Corporation Treasurer & Building Chairman.  She founded the Cyclone Copy Center, the first commercial quick print business in the university town of Ames until it was sold upon moving to California.  It was there that she took a keen interest in real estate and started working as a property manager starting actively buying and selling property.  Later when Paul started his own private consulting company Ginny became Treasurer and Secretary of the Corporation and eventually took the role of Chief Executive Officer.  In her spare time she enjoyed her collections of owls, coins and stamps, following the stock market and spending time in Truckee.

Ginny is survived by her four sons and their spouses Bill & Anne, Mark & Holly, Jim & Yuriko, Tom & Tracy; three grandchildren Tomel, David and Steven; and two great-grandchildren Holiday and Elijah.  The family will be holding a private service.  In lieu of flowers the family requests that donations made to the Alzheimer’s Association.
