Iowa Select Farms donates to Community Basket
Iowa Select Farms, in cooperation with the Deb and Jeff Hansen Foundation, donated 120 pork loins to the Community Basket mobile food pantry held at the United Methodist Church in Ida Grove Thursday. Each family received a frozen boneless pork loin weighing approximately 4.5 pounds.

Community Basket will soon be celebrating its third anniversary. So far in 2015, 634 unduplicated households have been provided food boxes. This totals 1,562 unduplicated individuals being provided with food.

The mission statement of the Community Basket is to share Christ’s love by providing free supplemental food to those in need in the community who struggle to make ends meet. Community Basket appreciates the support of area churches, businesses, schools and volunteers.

The next Community Basket mobile pantry will be at the Battle Creek fire station Thursday, Aug. 20, from 4:30 to 5:30 p. m. Each family is asked to bring a container for their food.
