Easter egg hunts are Saturday
Arthur - The Arthur City Council and Arthur Public Library are hosting an Easter egg hunt. Participants should meet at the Arthur Library at 10 a. m. before dividing into age groups. Prizes will be given out.

Odebolt - The O-A Richland Robins will host an Easter egg hunt at 10 a. m. at the Odebolt Nursing and Rehab Center (ONRC) for children up to nine years old. Participants will be assembled by age groups in the parking lot.  Cookies, juice and popcorn will be served afterwards by ONRC. Coloring contest sheets are available at ONRC and local businesses.

Churches plan special Easter services
Area churches have scheduled a variety of services in observance of Holy Week and Easter.

Ecumenical/joint services

The Odebolt-Arthur-Kiron (O-A-K) Ministerial Association is sponsoring an ecumenical Tenebrae service on Good Friday at 7 p. m. at St. Martin Catholic Church in Odebolt. The ecumenical choir, led by Kay Bloyer, will practice at 6 p. m.   O-A-K churches participating in the ecumenical service are Faith Lutheran, First Presbyterian, United Methodist, St. Martin, all of Odebolt; and Bethel Lutheran and Kiron Baptist, both of Kiron.

Arthur

Arthur Evangelical Free Church and CrossRidge Evangelical Free Church will participate in a 7 p. m. joint Good Friday service in Arthur. CrossRidge Pastor Tyler Parson will be preaching.

Arthur Evangelical Free Church will have a breakfast at 9 a. m. on Easter, followed by a 10 a. m. worship service. There is no Sunday school.

Arthur United Methodist Church has no special services scheduled.

Odebolt

Odebolt Faith Lutheran Church’s services include: a 2 p. m. Maundy Thursday service at Odebolt Nursing and Rehab Center, a 7 p. m. Maundy Thursday service at Bethel Lutheran in Kiron, a 10:30 a. m. Good Friday service at Odebolt Nursing and Rehab Center, a 9:30 a. m. Easter Sunday service and a 2:30 p. m. Easter service at Odebolt Nursing and Rehab Center.

First Presbyterian Church will observe Maundy Thursday with a 7 p. m. communion service. Easter activities include breakfast served from 8:30 to 9:30 a. m. and Easter Worship at 10 a. m. There are no Sunday school classes Easter morning.

St. Martin Catholic Church services include a 5:30 p. m. Holy Thursday service, a noon Good Friday service and a 8:30 a. m. Easter Sunday service.

United Methodist Church has three services scheduled, beginning with a 7 p. m. Maundy Thursday communion service, an 8 a. m. Easter sunrise service, fellowship and breakfast at 9 a. m. and a 10:15 a. m. Easter worship service.

Trinity Lutheran Church will be observing Holy Week and Easter with five special services. Services include a 7 p. m. Maundy Thursday service, two services on Good Friday—a 1 p. m. “Tre Ore” service and a 7 p. m. Tenebrae candlelight service, an 8:30 p. m. Easter vigil candlelight service on Saturday and a 7 a. m. Easter sunrise service, followed by Easter breakfast.

Kiron

Kiron Bethel Lutheran Church’s services include a 7 p. m. Maundy Thursday service, a 7 a. m. Easter sunrise service, followed by an Easter breakfast at 8 a. m.

Kiron Baptist Church services include: a 7 p. m. Maundy Thursday service, Easter coffee and rolls at 9 a. m. and Easter worship service at 10 a. m.
