Odebolt to replace hydrants
The City of Odebolt will be replacing water hydrants Friday, Oct. 17, starting at 8 a. m. The tentative duration is 8 a. m. to 2 p. m.

Residents may also experience rusty or discolored water for three or four days. A boil advisory will go into effect Oct. 17 and run until bacteria samples tests are negative.

Residents will be notified when the advisory is lifted on KDSN and Storm Lake radio stations.

Homecoming
Wesley Swanger of Battle Creek and Claudia Devitt of Ida Grove were crowned OA/BC-IG homecoming king and queen during the Thursday, September 26th coronation at the high school.  Ridge View topped O-A/BC-IG 20-7 in the Falcons' homecoming contest Friday in Ida Grove.

Booster donation
United Bank of Iowa sponsored its annual grilling on Thursday before the O-A/ BC-IG homecoming parade in downtown Ida Grove. A total of $1,433 was raised during the supper and donated to the O-A/BC-IG Athletic Boosters.

Teen charged with homicide by vehicleTrevor Ray Feauto, 17, of Clarksville was taken into custody by Sac County authorities Sept. 24 and charged with two counts of homicide by vehicle, class “B” felonies.

Feauto was the driver of a 1996 Dodge Ram pickup that collided with a 2009 Chevy Impala driven by Bailey Jacobsen at an uncontrolled intersection at 400th Street and Otter Avenue in Sac County around 12:30 a. m. on Aug. 23.

Jacobsen, 16, and her 16-year-old passenger, Lindsey Quirk, were both killed in the collision. A report from the DCI Crime Lab shows that Feauto’s blood alcohol level was 0.133 percent. Lab results show that Jacobsen had a blood alcohol level of .057 percent.

Feauto was taken into custody by the Waverly Police Department and transported by the Sac County Sheriff’s Of ice to the Youth Emergency Shelter (YES Center) in Cherokee.

The Sac County Sheriff’s Of ice, Carroll County Sheriff’s Office and the Iowa State Patrol conducted this ongoing investigation.
