Tangled Blue In Concert August 17

Tangled Blue will appear at Faith Lutheran Church August 17th

Faith Lutheran Church of Odebolt and Bethel Lutheran Church of Kiron will be hosting their 4th annual summer concert on August 17th at Faith Lutheran Church in Odebolt (708 Locust) with a simple meal at 4:30pm, and the concert at 5:30pm.

Each year the two congregations have worked together to host this event as a fund raiser for local ministries.  This year it will be for the Back Pack program in Odebolt and the one in Crawford County.

Who are Tangled Blue: Tangled Blue began in the winter of 1995 when the duo first met, but they didn’t realize it until five years later. In the summer of 2000, Aimée (vocals, percussion) and Joel (vocals, guitar, wind instruments) performed together for the first time. In September of 2001 Aimée and Joel were married and would soon start performing together as Tangled Blue.

Their first recording was completed in early 2003. Recorded at a farm house in Menomonie, Wisconsin, it is a caffeinated folk-rock blend of songs that have shown their durability as the duo traveled with them over 500,000 miles of U.S. highways. In 2005 Aimée and Joel relocated to Texas and in early 2007 left for an extended tour that has taken them from coast to coast and across the waters to Europe.

With a new residence in Minneapolis Minnesota, Tangled Blue completed a new recording based on the season of Advent in November of 2008 and a Christmas recording in 2011. Their next recording, due later this year, will feature songs for worship services.

OK, so what does Tangled Blue sound like? It is a unique sound that incorporates latin and electronic percussion, guitars, wind instruments, and beautifully matched alto and baritone voices. Tangled Blue performs throughout  the U.S. at churches, colleges and festivals, and have been featured performers at the Luther 500 Festival in Wittenberg, Germany.
