Odebolt Library news
The Odebolt Public Library added several books and DVDs to its circulation in June.
New hardcover books include: “Ghost Ship” by Clive Cussler, “Christmas in Cowboy Country” by Janet Dailey, “Save the Date” by Mary K. Andrews, “Stormy Persuasion #3” by Johanna Lindsey, “Missing You” by Harlan Coben, “Top Secret-Twenty-one” by Janet Evanovich and “Invisible” by James Patterson.
“Raina’s Choice” by Gilbert Morris is available in paperback.
Six books have been added to the library’s large-print collection. They include: “A Promise at Bluebill Hill” by Emma Cane, “Keep Quiet” by Lisa Scottoline, “Saving CeeCee Honeycutt” by Beth Hoffman and “Plain Peace,” “Plain Perfect” and “Plain Promise,” all by Beth Wiseman.
New young adult fiction books are “If I Stay” by Gayle Forman, “The Giver” by Lois Lowry and “Silver” by Chris Wooding.
New DVDs are “Robocop,” “The Wolf of Wall Street,” “The Starving Games,” “Non-Stop,” “The Good Witch’s Garden,” “The Great Bear,” “Jack Ryan: Shadow Recruit,” “Lego Movie,” “Endless Love,” “Sid the Science Kid,” “A Fine Step,” “Nebraska,” “Winter’s Tale” and “Scooby Doo–Wrestlemania Mystery.”
John Sandford’s “Field of Prey” is available on audio book.
Library hours are Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays and Fridays—2 to 6 p. m., Wednesdays—10 a. m. to noon and 2 to 7:30 p. m. and Saturdays—9 a. m. to noon.

Odebolt firemen called to Walnut Street
The Odebolt Fire Department was called to a vacant house ire at 112 N. Walnut St. in Odebolt July 6 at 12:49 a. m. Jim Fiebelkorn owns the property.
Fire Chief Greg Neville said person(s) unknown lit the house on ire. The department applied water to an adjacent house and was at the scene until 3:30 a. m.
Ida County Fair offers exhibits, shows, activities
The Ida County Fair is set for Tuesday through Monday, July 15 –21, at the fairgrounds. Season tickets are $20 for adults, $15 for students and free for age seven and under. Daily admission is $10 a person. Tickets are available at Boerner and Goldsmith Law Firm or the Ida County Extension Of ice in Ida Grove. There will be nightly drawings, and you need not be present to win.
Schaller Pop Corn Days
Friday & Saturday, July 11 and 12, 2014 at the Jaycees Festival Grounds in Schaller, Iowa
Jaycee Beer Garden opens at 7 pm both nights - $25.00 at the gate
Friday bands: 4Play starting at 8 pm; Western Underground at 10pm
Saturday bands: Neil Hewitt at 8pm; Confederate Railroad at 10pm.
