Dollars for Scholars

 The OA-BCIG Dollars for Scholars Board announces the event of
“An Evening for Education” on April 27th

An evening of fine dining, great entertainment and fellowship will be held on Sunday, April 27th 2014. Those in attendance will enjoy an elegant dining experience in the festive setting provided by the previous night’s Junior – Senior Prom at the Skate Palace in Ida Grove. A great meal and dessert served tableside by OA-BCIG high school students (and future scholarship recipients). The evening begins with a one-hour reception at 5:00 pm, dinner at 6:00, and featured entertainment at 7:30 pm. Following the meal will be a live auction and the results of the silent auction. Immediately after the auction you will enjoy an hour of wonderful vocal music provided by A Cappella group, Six Appeal with a musical style they call an eclectic mix of everything. Suggested attire is business or casual business.

All proceeds will fund the scholarships provided each year to OA- BCIG seniors who apply for Dollars for Scholars scholarships, seeking their post-secondary education.  Paul Neumann is the OA-BCIG Dollars for Scholars Foundation chairman for this event and comments, “This is a great opportunity for the members of all the OA-BCIG’s Whole Grade Sharing communities to come together for a common cause”.

Table sponsorships are available by contacting Paul Neumann at 712-369-0035 and are available at four levels Silver, Purple, Black and White for tables of 12, 10, 8 and 4 with reserved seating. Single seat tickets are also available for $40.00 per person. These tickets are available from Neumann or other Dollars for Scholars board members: Becky Ricklef, Rita Freese, Evelyn Lawhead, Marcia Cates,  Mike Rickert, Linda Burk,  or Tammie Dausel. The Board is also asking for items to be donated for a live and silent auction also held that evening.

Donations for the live and silent auctions can be given to any of the Dollars for Scholars members or by calling 712-365-0035. The board is looking for some desirable and fun items for the live auction. A list of the items will be published before the event. .

The opportunity of the prom décor, tables with fresh floral centerpieces, and themed place settings, will offer again the one-night event, to be shared with the community this year as “An Evening for Education”. The Scholarship board encourages everyone to come and be a part of an evening supporting the academic future of our communities’ youth.
