World Day of Prayer March 7
The Odebolt service is sponsored by O-A-K Ministerial Association and will be held at St. Martin Catholic Church at 11:30 a.m. on March 7, followed by soup and sandwiches.  All are welcome to attend.


Terri Carstensen Selected for National Beef Checkoff Committee
Terri Carstensen, Odebolt, and Scott McGregor, Nashua, will serve one- year terms on the Beef Promotion Operating Committee, which, following input from beef producers nationwide, will make final budget allocations for FY 2015 national Beef Checkoff Programs.  Read the full article here.


OPERA Iowa Coming to Odebolt on April 16.
OPERA Iowa Education Touring Troupe, a program of Des Metro Opera, Inc., has taken to the road for its 2014 tour.

The group will perform John Davies' The Three Little Pigs, a telling of the classic fairy tale through the music of Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart and a reduced version for five singers of Gaetano Donizetti's comedy The Elixir of Love.

OPERA Iowa will visit nearly 70 schools and communities this spring, including Odebolt and Holstein.  The Odebolt school performance will be at 1:30 p.m. on April 16.


Mat Rat Wrestlers Advance
Several area wrestlers participated in the Mat Rats Tournament held on February 16 in Odebolt.

Seven youth wrestlers from the Odebolt Mat Rats Wrestling Club qualified for the AAU State Wrestling Tournament to be held in Des Moines at Wells Fargo Arena on March 1st and 2nd.  Kaden Hoefling, Zach Hemer, Kurtis Krager, Jake Nieman, Jaxson Hildebrand, Blake Anderson and Tyler Anderson will wrestle in this tournament.

Tyler Anderson, Kurtis Krager, Jake Nieman and Jaxson Hildebrand, who placed first at District Wrestling, also have the honor of representing their district on an AAU State Dual team, which will wrestle in Des Moines on March 15th.


Construction for Media Center
Construction has begun on OABCIG's new media center in Odebolt.  It will be located where the main office, superintendent's office, business manager's office and board room used to be.  The project is expected to be completed by the end of March.
