Open house for Odebolt mayor
Odebolt Mayor Ron J. Rex will be honored for his years of service to the community at a reception this Friday, Dec. 13, from 10:30 a. m. to 12:30 p. m. at the Odebolt Public Library.

TAG soup supper
The O-A/BC-IG Middle School Talented and Gifted program is hosting a soup supper from 5 -7pm, Friday, Dec. 13, at O-A/BC-IG High School in Ida Grove before the basketball game against West Monona. Everyone is welcome.

The menu includes chili, chicken noodle and cheese potato soups, veggies, cookie and lemonade.

There will also be a 31-bag chance booth. There are 13 bags to raffle off. Winners will be drawn and announced during the boys’ half time. Winners take their bags home on Dec. 13. Stop by and check them out. Chances are one for $1, six for $5 and 12 for $10.  All proceeds go toward educational TAG field trips.


Ida Bowl has new Owners

D. J. and Tracey Newman of Odebolt are the new owners of Ida Bowl/Hideaway Lounge in Ida Grove. The couple, along with their sons Tyler Newman and Alex Newman, officially took over the local bowling alley, lounge and grill Dec. 2.

The business is open Monday through Saturday from 10 a. m. to closing. Ida Bowl will be open on Sundays through Jan. 5 to honor party commitments. The business will be closed on Sundays after Jan. 5.

In addition to the established bowling leagues, the bowling lanes will be available for open bowling after 6 p. m. on Friday, all day Saturday and prior to and after league bowling on Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday. Some exceptions may apply for open bowling on weekdays due to the school bowling program. It is suggested calling ahead (364-3621) for availability of lanes during weekdays.

Ida Bowl also features food items that include hamburgers and grilled chicken sandwiches and side dishes. The grill is on until 10 p. m. Togo orders may be called in at 364-3621.
