SCCC to Host Smithsonian Display
The Sac County Conservation Center will be hosting the traveling Smithsonian's display entitled "Listening to the Prairie; Farming in Nature's Image" until Christmas.  During this time the center will be open Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. The center will also be open from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. on Sundays from November 17 through December 22.

This is a unique display that follows several farm families and how they are farming in nature's image.  For more information or for special group tours call 712-662-4530.  This display is supported by funds from REAP.

Turkey Drawing
Many of the area businesses are again taking part in the annual Thanksgiving Turkey Drawing sponsored by The Chronicle.

To enter the drawing, clip the turkey ads from the paper and fill out the registration form. (No copies accepted). Take your entry to the participating businesses.

Turkey registration forms are in The Chronicle for two weeks. The drawings will be held Monday, November 18 and winners from each participating business will be notified.

Quilts of Valor
Linda Sleight of Odebolt made one of the quilts displayed at the Sac County Quilt-A-Fair which were later presented to area veterans or current service members who have been injured during their service.  Learn more about the Quilts of Valor Foundation and about the display at the September 2013 Sac County Quilt-A-Fair.
