Two Odebolt Men Win Honors at Wine & Bier Contest
The 38th Annual Schleswig Wine & Bier Contest was held in Ida Grove at the Country Club on Sunday, Oct. 20.
Grand Champion Bier maker was R.J. Bumann of Ida Grove. His beer was an English Pale Ale.
Jason Wulf of Odebolt was Reserve Grand Champion with a Black Raspberry Porter.
Grand Champion of the Wine competition was Don Thompson of Dunlap with a Chocolate/Raspberry Port.
Dr. Dave Anderson of Odebolt was the Reserve Grand Champion wine maker with a Raspberry Mead. Last year’s winner, Dr. Crabb, was the head wine judge this year.
There were 47 beers entered and 60 wines.
