Buena Vista Regional Medical Center is proud to announce that Zena Olerich, Social Worker and Patient Advocate, has been selected as a Hospital Hero by the Iowa Hospital Association (IHA).
Every year the IHA awards those committed health care professionals that go above and beyond. Hospitals are asked to submit applications and provide examples of how the individual could be considered a hero. Only eleven people were awarded the status and will be honored at the IHA Annual Conference in October.
Olerich was nominated for her work with patients receiving cancer treatment in the Oncology Department, patients in the geriatric psych unit, Hope Harbor, and counseling employees through the employee assistance program. Olerich lives in Odebolt.
