O-A Elementary to walk Oct. 7

The community is invited to join in the Odebolt-Arthur Start Somewhere Walk on Friday, Oct. 7, at the O-A School building in Odebolt. Meet at the canopy or contact the teacher you would like to walk with about the time. The O-A Elementary will join the statewide effort to make Iowa the healthiest state in the country. All elementary classes will walk for 30 minutes.

BC-IG, O-A boards to reorganize Monday

The Battle Creek-Ida Grove and Odebolt-Arthur School Boards will meet in joint session next Monday, Oct. 10, 6:30 p.m., at the Odebolt conference room for their organizational meetings. The current boards will approve bills and financial reports, and review the official report of the votes from the school board election before adjourning. The boards will have new members take the oath of office, elect presidents and vice presidents and determine the date and time for meetings. The consent agenda includes resignations, contract approvals and out-of-state/overnight trips. Superintendent, administrator and director reports will follow. Action items include early graduation requests, appointment of member to county conference boards and PPEL/capital project expenditures.
