BRANSTAD-REYNOLDS ON "JOBS FOR IOWA" TOUR
Gov. Terry Branstad and Lt. Gov. Kim Reynols made a brief stop at The DownTown Cafe, Odebolt, on August 23 as part of a three-day, 12-city tour.
VOLUNTEER CREW
Farmers Coop Crew of Odebolt wanted to give back to the community by cleaning the Odebolt Memorial Walk Trail. They washed all the plaques, benches and tables. They also picked up and removed trash along the trail.
FOUR GENERATIONS OF BETTIN GOLFERS
Five members of Helen Bettin's family joined her for a game of golf at Spring Lake Country Club on August 18. Helen became a member of Spring Lake soon after its establishment and has golfed on the Ladies League until this year. "Grandma Helen" has encouraged and taught many of her family members to play golf. She celebrated her 92nd birthday recently and is still swinging her clubs with enthusiasm and precision. Helen's positive approach to daily living is an inspiration to her family and her many friends.
