SCHOOL TO START AUGUST 17
     Odebolt-Arthur/Battle Creek- Ida Grove students return to classes Wednesday, Aug. 17 and will dismiss at 2:30 p.m.
    O-A/BC-IG open houses are
Monday, Aug. 15—4:30 to 6 p.m. BC-IG intermediate at Battle Creek and 6 to 7:30 p.m. O-A/BC-IG High School in Ida Grove; 
Tuesday, Aug. 16—4:30 to 6 p.m. BC-IG Elementary at Ida Grove, 6 to 7:30 p.m. O-A Elementary and O-A/BC-IG Middle School at Odebolt. 
     High School Principal Patrick Miller says students will have a later dismissal time this year, dismissing at 3:29 p.m.
     New staff members at the high school are math teachers Megan Parker and Travis Chizek.
     O-A Elementary and O-A/ BC-IG Middle School Principal Tony Spradlin said, “It is my pleasure to share with you the following staff additions this year: Neil Anders will be the new instrumental music for grades five through eight, Kara Smith will be the new O-A first grade teacher, Reeann Marra will be the new O-A pre-school teacher and Sharon Uhl will be back with us working with students in the middle school.”
     New staff at the lower elementary building are preschool teacher Ashley Becker and library associate Mary Jo Hartwig.

SCHOOL BOARD SLATE FOR SEPTEMBER 13 ELECTION
At Odebolt-Arthur, incumbents Paul Neumann of Odebolt, Traci Bengford of Odebolt and Brad Lundell are seeking reelection to their seats. Lundell was appointed to fill Scott Cranston’s seat until the Sept. 13 election. Deb Bengford of Arthur did not return nomination papers. Also running for one of the four openings is Pat Hoefl ing of Odebolt. The reorganization vote for Odebolt-Arthur/Battle Creek- Ida Grove will also be on the September ballot.
