These pictures were taken in Odebolt in the yard of Deb & Kerry Reinhart on Sunday, July 24, 2011. They are cooper hawk siblings.  In the tree behind them mom was sitting and off to the left dad was perched on the wires.  The young hawks sat for about an hour in the yard.

The Reinhart's property has been recognized by the National Wildlife Federation because it provides the four basic habitat elements needed for wildlife to thrive:  food, water, cover, and places to raise young.  It has been certified by the National Wildlife Federation as an official Backyard Wildlife Habitat site.

Apparently these hawks think the Reinhart's place is a good place to visit! Thanks to Deb Reinhart for sending in the photos.

What an exceptional experience to have hawks use your yard for nesting. Congratulations on being recognized by the National Wildlife Federation.
