School registration news & items from 7/27/11 Ida County Courier

Area Schools register students next week

Area students will register for school next week. Odebolt-Arthur Battle Creek-Ida Grove students may register Tuesday, Aug. 2, from noon to 5 p.m. at the BC-IG intermediate building in Battle Creek; Wednesday, Aug. 3, from noon to 6 p.m. at the O-A/BCIG High School in Ida Grove or Thursday, Aug. 4, from noon to 6 p.m. at the O-A/BC-IG Middle School in Odebolt. Students may register at any location.

O-A/BC-IG Registration fees for O-A/BCIG students are as follows: Book fees—Elementary, $35; middle school, $50; and high school $65. Music—$10 for band and vocal uniform fee, $20 for percussion rental and $35 for instrumental rental.

Activity tickets—$30 for K-12 students, $65 for adults and $160 for family. Senior citizen’s (age 62) can obtain a free pass upon request.

Breakfast—$1.10 daily for elementary and intermediate students; $1.20 daily for middle school students; $1.30 daily for high school and $1.45 daily for adults.

Hot lunch—$1.60 daily for elementary, intermediate and middle school students; $1.85 daily for high school students; and $2.35 daily for adults. Extra milk—30-cents.

Driver’s education—$300. Town bus (BC-IG only)—$25 per semester; maximum $50 per semester and $100 for the year. Preschool tuition—BC-IG three year olds, $65.

A teacher professional development workshop will be held on Friday, Aug. 12. Teacher workshop days are Monday and Tuesday, Aug. 15 and 16.

The first day of school is Wednesday, Aug. 17 with a 2:30 p.m. dismissal.

School Board Filing Deadline

The deadline for persons interested in running for open seats on area school boards is Thursday, Aug. 4 at 5 p.m.
