Music trip: Odebolt-Arthur/Battle Creek-Ida Grove High School music students experienced Memorial Day weekend activities during their visit to Washington, D.C., May 26-31. A total of 140 students and 22 chaperones traveled in three tour buses during the trip. Above, students sang at the U.S. Navy Memorial on Pennsylvania Avenue on their first day and below, attended the annual National Memorial Day concert on the west lawn of the U.S. Capitol. BUSINESS AWARD
Bayle Olerich of Odebolt was recently awarded the State National Bank’s outstanding business graduate award by representative of the bank, Galen Wiser at Wayne State College in Wayne, Neb. The award is given annually to a student by the Business and Economics Department faculty for demonstrating outstanding academic achievement in business, career potential, excellent leadership capabilities and exceptional personal qualities.She received an engraved watch from the bank.
Olerich graduated in May with a business administration degree with a concentration in marketing. She graduated summa cum laude with a cumulative grade point average between 3.90 to 4.00. She was a member of Sigma Beta Delta business honorary and attended the Sigma Beta Delta Leadership Academy in San Diego, Calif., on the organization’s behalf. She has been active in Delta Sigma Pi, having served as senior vice president, vice president of professional activities and historian. She is a member of Cardinal Key, Honor Society of Phi Kappa Phi, Rotaract, has been on the Wayne’s dean’s list and participated in intramural sports.
