OA-BCIG schools will hold commencement exercises this Sunday, May 22.
Commencement exercises for 78 Odebolt-Arthur/Battle Creek-Ida Grove seniors will be at 2 p.m. in the high school gymnasium in Ida Grove.
The program will begin with prelude music and the processional “Pomp and Circumstance” performed by the O-A/BC-IG High School band, under the direction of Eric Wells.
Superintendent Dani Trimble will welcome the audience.
The senior choir members will perform “I Wish You Peace.”
O-A/BC-IG Middle School Principal Anthony Spradlin will present the seniors with their scholastic recognition awards and then recognize the Battle Creek-Ida Grove and Odebolt- Arthur valedictorians Emilee Berry and Scott Hoefling, respectively.
Salutatorians are Casey Schug (BC-IG) and Dani Cranston (O-A).
BC-IG School Board President Duane Hummelgard, Odebolt-Arthur Board President Paul Neumann and Trimble will distribute the diplomas to the seniors.
Spradlin will then present the graduates to the audience, followed by the recessional.
After commencement, the graduates will have a receiving line outside, weather permitting.
The seniors have chosen empire gray, carmine red and black for their class colors. The class flower is the white dahlia dipped in red. The class motto is “Two zero one one the future is here, it has begun. Studied hard and had some fun, made our mark and now we’re done.” The class song is “Those Nights” by Skillet.
