SAC COUNTY VETERANS MEMORIAL DEDICATION
The public is invited to attend a dedication ceremony for the Sac County Veterans Memorial, to be held Sunday, May 29, at 2 p.m. at the memorial site on the Sac County Courthouse lawn.
Some seating will be available, but if you are able, please bring a lawn chair or blanket for seating. In the event of inclement weather, the ceremony will be held at the Sac County Fairgrounds 4-H Building. Seating will be available there.
The service will start with a flyover by a 1943 Cessna owned by Elmer and Beanie Steier of Whittemore, weather permitting. This restored WWII airplane will also be on display at the Sac City Airport on May 29th from 12:30-1:30 p.m.

CHILDREN’S ILLUSTRATOR AT LIBRARY
The Odebolt Public Library is excited to announce that children’s book illustrator, Rich Davis of Siloam Springs, AR will be conducting a workshop at the library on Thursday, June 2, from 2:00 to 3:00 p.m. for the children attending the Summer Reading program. This is also open to the general public.
Davis is a free-lance illustrator in children’s books and greeting cards and is a folk art painter. He has illustrated nine children’s books, including the Tiny the Dog books.
He enjoys traveling to public libraries and public elementary schools to draw with the kids and talk about the imagination, creativity and making children’s books. You may visit his site at www.richdavis.freewebspace.com
SUMMER CHILDREN’S ACTIVITY AT THE LIBRARY
Summer Reading Fun will be held Tuesday, May 31 through Friday, June 3 from 2:00 to 3:00 p.m. at the Odebolt Public Library.
The following entertainment is planned:
Tuesday: Face painting and book reading.
Wednesday: Walk to Steve and Deb Loger’s and visit their special trained dogs.
Thursday: Illustrator Rich Davis will have a workshop for the children. He has illustrated 9 children’s books, including all the Tiny the Dog books.
Friday: Bowling and party to kick off the summer.

ODEBOLT HOSTS LEAGUE OF CITIES
The Northwest Iowa League of Cities had their May 19th meeting at 5 p.m. at the Odebolt Community Center. Following a social hour, President Ron Rex gave a welcome in behalf of the City followed by a catered dinner by The DownTown Café of Odebolt.
Each city represented gave the highlights of their community activities.
Special guests were Casady Nguygen, Legislative Director, Congressman Steve King’s Washington office; Alan Kemp, executive officer of the Iowa League of Cities in Des Moines; Steve Kettering, our state senator for the district; Mr. and Mrs. Howard Hustedt, representing the Odebolt Community Center. Each of the guests presented information in their center of interest.
The next meeting of the NW Iowa League, the annual meeting, will be June 16th at LeMars. All were invited by the Mayor of LeMars. The guest speaker will be the executive head of Wells Blue Bunny.
