MIDDLE SCHOOL LARGE GROUP BAND CONTEST
The OA-BCIG 7th/8th Grade Band and the O-A 6th Grade Band performed April 30th at the Middle School Large Group Band Contest in Anthon. Each band earned a "I" rating.
TREE PLANTING
On Arbor Day, April 29, 2011, the OA 5th Grade planted a tree to commemorate this special day. Lorne Miller, U.S.D.A., NRCS, District Conservationist, came to the classroom and gave planting instructions and information on trees. Mrs. Lori Lapel, the 5th grade teacher, accompanied the class to the north parking at 6th and Park, and Mr. Miller planted a red maple. Each student was given a tree to take home and plant. Mr. Miller also represents the Ida County Pheasants Forever who help sponsor this event by donating the trees for all 5th graders. Mayor Ron Rex and Elaine Rex, members of the Odebolt Memorial Walk Park Board, assist with this event each year.
