ODEBOLT CORN GROWER PLACES THIRD IN NATION
David Schultz of Odebolt, Iowa, placed third in the nation in the AA Non-Irrigated Class of the 2010 National Corn Yield Contest, sponsored by the National Corn Growers Association.  The awards were presented at the annual Commodity Classic held March 3-5 in Tampa, FL.  A record 7,125 growers from 46 states entered the 2010 competition.

STATE WINNER IN CORN YIELD CONTEST
Terry Neville of Kiron, Iowa has been honored as a state winner in the 2010 National Corn Yield Contest sponsored annually by the National Corn Growers Association.  He placed third in the state in the B Class with a yield of 278.018 bushels per acre.

SAC COUNTY ROAD M-35 TO CLOSE
Dixon Construction Co. Inc. of Correctionville, IA plans to close M-35 northwest of Odebolt between 270th and 280th streets approximately April 11th and begin removing a bridge.

The bridge will be replaced with a continuous concrete slab bridge.  During the project, which is expected to take 3-1/2 to 4 months, the road will be closed to through traffic.  Traffic will be detoured east on Highway 175 to M-43, north on M-43 to Highway 20 and then west on Highway 20 to M-35.


Odebolt Cemetery Clean-Up Day

The Cemetery Committee is requesting the
public's help on Work Day.
Please bring rakes, shovels, pick-ups, etc.
to help beautify the cemetery.
