Kerry Reinhart was present with comments concerning the Park improvements. Windows have been installed in the shelter house.
Carol Raasch was present to update the Council on the Rural Legacy Project. She commented that the group had submitted an application to the Keep Iowa Beautiful Program and are currently working on the Sac County Endowment Foundation application. She indicated on a map drawn by Kerry Reinhart where the Committee would like to place the schoolhouse. ... they would like to complete phase one by Creek Days. This includes the foundation and some electrical work. ... Following discussion, and no objection to the planned location for the schoolhouse, the Mayor stated that the project had the approval of the Council. .... Raasch also commented that the book written by Sandy Host will be going to the publisher soon and that proceeds will go toward the Rural Legacy Project.
Public Hearing: There were no citizens present to question the proposed Budget Amendment. It was then moved by Hoefling and seconded by Bengford to adopt Resolution #11.14 - approving the Amendment as published. All ayes.
Supt. Tysor reported that there are 51 tree stumps to be removed and it was decided to check into renting equipment to do the work. The mowing contract was renewed with Hoefling Lawn Service. Two walls in the pump building at the pool are caving in and will be repaired.
The Mayor read a letter announcing that Odebolt had qualified as a “Tree City USA” for 2010. Elaine Rex and Madeline Meyer will attend the annual awards Banquet to accept the award for Odebolt.
The City wishes to acknowledge and thank the following for donations to the Peterson Pioneer Home: Mrs. R.B. Cordes in memory of Mary Jeanne Thompson and TLOBEDO QUESTERS in memory of Mary Jeanne Thompson.
