GRANT RECIPIENT
Iowa Network Services, Inc. presented a $1,300 Iowa Network Services Charity Grant to the Odebolt Betterment Committee (OBC) for the city park shelter renovation Friday. INS created the Iowa Network Services Charity Grant Program to increase its service and support to the communities it serves and to help bring INS closer to its customers. INS presented the award in conjunction with the Sac County Mutual Telephone Company. Sac County Mutual Telephone Company provides service to the city of Odebolt and supported the grant application submitted by OBC. Those participating in the presentation were INS, Inc. Marketing Representative J.D. Siebert, OBC member Deb Reinhart, Odebolt Mayor Ron Rex and Sac County Mutual Telephone General Manager Ron Sorensen.

ODEBOLT GIRL RELEASED
Seven-year-old Meadow Olson, daughter of Mark and Heather Olson of Odebolt, was released from Mercy Medical Center in Sioux City Wednesday, March 9. According to Meadow’s mom, Meadow sustained a fracture on the bridge of her nose, two broken ribs, a fractured pelvis, hole in her bladder and major soft tissue damage to her right leg after being struck by an Odebolt- Arthur school bus Feb. 28. She underwent surgery for the bladder injury her first night in the hospital.
     Meadow’s recovery is expected to take several weeks at home. A community-wide prayer chain went out for Meadow and her family. Her mom says the prayers were heard and feels they helped in her recovery.

TICKETS AVAILABLE FOR SCHOLARSHIP FUND-RAISER
The O-A/BC-IG Dollars for Scholars Foundation Board announces its second annual fund-raiser event, “An Evening for Education,” on Sunday, April 10, at Skate Palace.  Tickets are available from board members Paul Neumann, Roger Christensen, Evelyn Lawhead, Marcia Cates, Lorraine Johnson, Mike Rickert, Linda Burk, Renee Bengford and Tammie Dausel.  The foundation board is also looking for sponsors & donations for live auctions.  All proceeds fund the scholarships provided each year to O-A/BC-IG seniors who apply.
