ODEBOLT RECEIVES GRANT
     The city of Odebolt was awarded a $7,071 Sac County Endowment Foundation Grant on behalf of the Odebolt Betterment Committee for a park renovation project. A total of $62,961 was awarded for nine projects in Sac County.
     According to the February Sac Economic and Tourism Development (SETD) newsletter, a pool of approximately $36,000 is left in the grant fund. Applications for these funds are available now and are due April 29 at 4 p.m. Grant funds are only available to cities or 501c3 organizations in Sac County. O-A/BC-IG DANCE PARTY PLANNED FOR MARCH 19
     The O-A/BC-IG dance team will hold its second annual dance party and clinic on Saturday, March 19.
     A dance clinic for students in grades preschool through eighth grade will be that Saturday from 9 - 11 a.m. at the high school. Students will learn a short routine and have a snack. They will then return to the Ida Grove High School that evening to perform their routines along with the O-A/ BC-IG dance team and other area school dance teams.
     A meal will be served from 4:30 - 6:30 p.m., including a tavern or hot dog, chips, bar and drink for $3. There will also be a chance booth with items donated from area businesses and individuals.
     The dance performances will begin at 7 p.m. Admission to the performance is $3 for adults and $2 for children.
     All dance participants will receive a t-shirt, meal and admission to the dance performances. Late registrations will be accepted but we will be unable to guarantee a t-shirt. The registration fee is $10. For more information, contact coach Anne Zobel at 365-4393.

 O-A/BC-IG GIRLS, COACH, AMONG HOOP ELITE
     The Iowa Girls’ Coaches Association (IGCA) named senior Ashley Zobel and junior Jessie Pauley to the class 2A all-state tournament first team for the 2010-11 season. O-A/BC-IG head coach Pat Miller was named coach of the year in class 2A.

FALCONS NAMED ALL-STATE
      Three O-A/BC-IG girls were named to Iowa Newspaper Association all-state basketball teams. Junior Jessie Pauley (backcourt) earned first team honors. Junior Morgan VanDerSloot (backcourt) was named to the second team. Senior Ashley Zobel (utility) was a third team selection.
