City Council Meeting Minutes - March 7 and 8, 2011

CITY OF ODEBOLT - REGULAR MEETING
March 7, 2011 - CITY HALL, 7:30 P.M.
EXCERPTS
 - The council approved insurance & workers' comp insurance coverage for 2011-2012.
 - Rick Crawford, representing the Major/Minor Boys Ball Program, requested council approval to join the Ida Grove / Battle Creek organization.  Control of the organization will be transferred to the Ida Grove Community Rec Center…this will include insurance and equipment. This organization  is inviting both Odebolt and Arthur to provide one member to serve on the Major/Minor Baseball Board. Games will be played in Battle Creek and Odebolt.
 - 8:00 p.m. Hearing on proposed FY12 Budget - No citizens were present to question the proposed FY12 Budget.  Proposed Budget was approved.
 - The following Odebolt Swimming Pool positions were approved:
  • Pool Manager-Tyler Schroeder;
  • Lifeguards- Rachelle Duff, Whitney Simonson-Frank, Kellyanne Gunderson, Colton Hemer, Jeffrey Marron, Jessica Neumann, Ryan Rohlf, Evan Salmon, Courtney Schnuckel, Trevor Schnuckel, Kallie Schroeder and Kendra Wunschel. 
  • Basketroom- Anna Dewey, Cheyenne Marron, Jake Olson, Jack Pingel and Beth Stangl. 
  • Pool rates will be increased as follows:
    • “Early bird” rate to be $65.00 and passes purchased after June 1 will be $85.00.
    • Daily admissions: 
                     $3.00 for 13 and older,
                     $2.00 for 12 and under, including preschool.
                     Single person passes will be $40.00.
  - The City is very appreciative of the donation in the amount of $5,400.00 to the pool from Faith Lutheran Church.

 - Supt. Tysor reported that contractors would be cleaning the water tower in 4-6 weeks.  This will result in low water pressure for that day.
 
  

ODEBOLT CITY COUNCIL - SPECIAL MEETING
Tuesday, March 8, 2011, 10:00 A.M. - CITY HALL
     Mayor Rex called the special meeting to order with the following Council in attendance: Hoefling, Bengford and Scott.   Absent: Flink and Hemphill. Others in attendance;  Engineers  Neal Kuehl, Eric Deters and Earl Zimmerman;  Joe Behrens from Region XII;  Bruce, Mae, Alex and Aaron Vonnahme of LeRoy and Sons (Contractors); David King of King Construction and City Supt. Bill Tysor.
     Moved by Hoefling and seconded by Scott to approve the agenda.  Three ayes.
     The purpose of the meeting was to conduct a pre-construction conference for the new lagoon located west of town. Plans, specifications, schedules, equipment, utilities, insurance, responsibilities and several other pertinent items were discussed. 
     At approximately 10:50 a.m. it was moved by Bengford and seconded by Hoefling to adjourn.  Three ayes.
