STUDENT STRUCK BY BUS SUSTAINS INJURIES
Sac County Sheriff’s Office is investigating an accident that occurred in Odebolt Monday in which a 7-year-old girl was struck by an Odebolt-Arthur School bus after she had been discharged from the bus. The accident occurred at 2:49 p.m at the scheduled bus stop at 4th and Dewey streets. Three students exited the bus at this stop. It is unclear at this point exactly how the girl was struck by the bus. The girl was transported to Loring Hospital in Sac City and air-lifted to Mercy Medical Center in Sioux City with serious injuries.

An inspection of the bus revealed that all safety equipment operated as designed. The investigation is continuing. Assisting at the scene were the Iowa State Patrol, Odebolt Fire/Rescue, Odebolt Ambulance and Sac City Ambulance.

HOAGIE SALES
O-A/BC-IG High School and Middle School students will be selling hoagie sandwiches March 2 through March 15, with pick-up/delivery date of March 25. They will be sold in multiples of two with a cost of $2.50 each and a minimum order of 4 hoagies.

The famous hoagie is a six-inch sandwich on a HyVee bakery fresh bun, made with three meats and two slices of cheese. Since 1987 a total of 137,000 sandwiches have been sold. 9,654 hoagies were sold in 2010, the best sales year to date.

This is the major moneymaker each year for the athletic department. The funds are used to purchase uniforms, equipment, etc., for all athletes.

Please call your favorite O-A/BC-IG student or call the middle school at 668-2827 to order your sandwiches.
