Top-ranked OA-BCIG ready for rematch in first round
From the Sioux City Journal

DES MOINES - Don't think for one minute that OA-BCIG is taking IKM-Manning lightly in an Iowa Girls State Basketball Class 2A opener tonight at Wells Fargo Arena.

Despite rolling to an 80-44 victory in a Western Valley Conference game on Dec. 14, the top-ranked and unbeaten Falcons realize IKM-Manning is a much-improved outfit.

....... The winner of tonight's game plays either No. 4 Mount Ayr (22-2) or No. 8 Monticello (24-1) in a semifinal at noon on Thursday.  Click for the full story

DES MOINES -These two know a lot about each other, a lot about adapting to change and most of all, a lot about winning.

When the OA-BCIG and IKM-Manning girls basketball teams get together on Monday at 6:45 p.m., they’ll renew a budding rivalry between Western Valley Conference members.

The best part is they get to do it on the glittery stage of the Wells Fargo Arena hardwood, as Class 2-A state quarterfinalists. OA-BCIG (23-0) is rated first in the state, and routed the 11th-rated Wolves (19-4) 80-44 on Dec. 14.

.... OA-BCIG has pulverized most of its opponents this year, leading the state regardless of class in points (78.9) and victory margin (43.4) per game. Only one team has stayed within single digits of the Wolves, Lawton-Bronson, which lost 59-50 on Feb. 3. They have won seven games by 60 or more.
