Odebolt teen charged with homicide
Connor Hemer, 19, of Odebolt has been charged in Harrison County District Court with homicide by vehicle–operating under the influence and carrying weapons, according to information obtained on Iowa Courts Online.

On Aug. 14, 2014, Hemer was involved in a two-vehicle accident east of Logan on Highway 30. According to the preliminary Iowa State Patrol investigation report, Hemer was eastbound on Highway 30 and crossed the centerline, hitting a westbound vehicle driven by Jody Hustak, 45, of Logan. Hustak was pronounced dead at the scene.

According to court information, trial information was filed in Harrison County District Court Feb. 3 and order for arraignment was filed on Feb. 24.

Odebolt Receives INS Charity Grant
Iowa Network Services, Inc. (INS) presented an INS Charity Grant Program Award to the City of Odebolt.  The grant was presented in conjunction with Sac County Mutual Telephone Company who sponsored the grant application.  The grant, in the amount of $1500, will be used towards the Odebolt Creek Walk cement pads under the picnic tables.
