The Odebolt Public Library board has approved funding to digitize issues of The Chronicle ranging from 1877 to 2012. These issues are now located on microfilm housed at the State Historical Society of Iowa Library. The Odebolt Library is on a waiting list for digitizing, but as soon as it is completed you will be able to access the files on-line from your home computer. Currently the Odebolt Library has microfilm of the papers available to the public that can be read on a microfilm reader.
Stephanie (Reinhart) Fleenor has volunteered to head up this project and the Library thanks her very much. If you see a board member be sure to thank them. It is at a cost of over $12,000 and will be taken from the Memorial Fund monies. The Library also appreciates the $1,000 contribution from Pam Boney Arrigo towards the digitizing project.
VideoEye donated by Gronemeyer Family
Now available at the Library is a power magnification system called "VideoEye". This enables patrons who have impaired vision to read books, magazines and newspapers. It is easy to use and library staff will be glad to show you how. It's a great way to read the Chronicle and Courier.
This was made possible by the Marge and P. Dale Gronemeyer family. Marge had found this an invaluable tool to her reading.
