Visit before Labor Day

TIME IS RUNNING OUT!

If you’ve been saying to yourself, “I should stop and visit those one of these days”….now is the time!

We know there are some in our community who have not yet visited the newly opened Iowa Rural Schools Museum and the Peterson Pioneer Home in Odebolt.  We have been dutifully open Sunday afternoons from 2:00 to 4:00 to afford you that opportunity.  While we have had visitors, we have not been overwhelmed with numbers.  These regular hours will be ending after Labor Day, at least for the Pioneer Home, so that the Questors may continue their update work on the building.

The Schools Museum will be determining opening hours beyond Labor Day, somewhat based on where our attendance has been.  Right now, our Wednesdays have been busier than the weekend days.  At all other times, a simple phone call to arrange a visiting time is another alternative.  At times, when we have been working on inventory or rearrangements, folks have also stopped by. This is also fine…although you may not have our complete attention or may find things a little unarranged.

We welcome clubs and classes to come and spend the day, a meeting time, a week….whatever is needed or wished.    You may call City Hall at 668-2231 or Carol Raasch at 712-830-8328.

Once again, if you’ve been putting off visiting these jewels of Odebolt, come see us at the Iowa Rural Schools Museum Wednesdays from 10:00 to 4:00 and on Sundays for both, the Schools Museum and the Peterson Pioneer Home, from 2:00 to 4:00 through September 1st. NOW IS THE TIME!
