Rare May Snowfall Sets Record
Classes were cancelled, travel was not advised, and power lines and tree branches snapped under the weight of snow. One last snow hit the area on May 1.
According the the National Weather Service (NWS), five inches of wet, heavy, slushy snow fell beginning the afternoon of May 1 and ending in the early morning hours of May 2.
