‘Miss High School USA Pageant’
this Saturday night
7pm @ Bart Ogden Gym in Odebolt
The Odebolt-Arthur/Battle Creek-Ida Grove High School will present “Miss High School USA Pageant” by Kamrom Klitgaard this Saturday, April 13, at 7 p. m., in Bart Ogden Gymnasium at the Odebolt facility.Pandemonium breaks out at the local high school beauty pageant. Just as the winner is to be announced, the pageant erupts into total disarray. Audience members judge and hilarity ensues.

E., Dalton Clausen as Frankie, Doug Hopkins as Father, Connor Musel as Clown, Garrett Rohlk as Alex, Joey Elley as Tech Guy 1, Jacob Olson as Tech Guy 2, Jacob Henderson as Friend 1, Blake Netherton as Friend 2, Seth Wheeler as Band 1, Gable Sohm as Band 2, Lexi Olerich as Runner-up and Alan Peine as Don.
Happiness Express donates to O-A/BC-IG
The vocal music department of O-A/BC-IG High School is the recipient of a $300 check presented by the Happiness Express Chorus of Denison as part of their program to “Enrich Lives Through Singing.”
The gift represents a portion of $3,700 that is being distributed to vocal music departments of 10 area high schools and two vocal music workshop programs.
“It costs money to run a vocal music program,” said Jerry Einspahr, a member of the chorus. “With the budget cuts being experienced by our local schools, the chorus decided to step in and help. Our show patrons and local business sponsors have been very supportive in past years, so we are returning a portion of our spring show pro it to the communities in which our members live.”
Business sponsors helping to make this possible include First State Bank, Galleria Portraits, Lackman Miniature Ponies, Murray Jewelers and Ida Family Chiropractic, all of Ida Grove; and Einspahr Furniture, Bar V Feedlot (Kevin and Terri Carstensen), Pan-Agra and Swanson Insurance and Real Estate, all of Odebolt.
The Happiness Express is the performing a cappella chorus of the Denison Barbershop Harmony Society. Members come from within a 60-mile radius of Denison and present an annual show in April.
Now in its 49th year, it welcomes men who enjoy singing as a hobby. They meet each Monday at 7:30 p. m. at the Denison High School vocal room, 819 N. 16th St.
Members from the Odebolt/ Ida Grove area include: Kevin McFarland, Jerry Einspahr and Joe Wadsley, all of Odebolt; and Rod Schneider of Ida Grove.
